At JuaPay, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information in connection with our range of products within the JuaPay platform.
Information We Collect
When you use our platform, we may collect the following types of information:
1. Personal Information: We may collect your name, email address, phone number, and other similar information for KYC purposes only, when you create an account on our platform.
2. Transaction Information: We do not collect information about your transactions on the application. You do however, hereforth made aware as to the nature of blockchain transactions being public. You agree that the transactions you make will be saved in a decentralised manner in which case are publicly available for anyones use and that anyone can view them. Your personal information will not be attached to such transactions.
3. Location Information: We may collect your phone's approximate location e.g country, to provide better enhanced services per your region and for analytical purposes.
4. Supporting Documentation Information: We may collect your ID document copy and other documentation as required for KYC purposes.
5. Graphical Information: We may collect a copy of a picture or video of yourself as required for KYC purposes.
How We Use Information
We do not share your information with third parties but we may use the information we collect for the following purposes:
1. To better improve our service offering.
2. For analytical purposes.
3. To comply with legal obligations: We may use your information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws.

Account and Data Deletion
Should you wish to permanently delete any JuaPay data saved on your device and our servers, kindly go to the 'settings' screen on the JuaPay application and click on 'Delete Account', we recommend you firstly save your private keys on both your main account and dummy account.
Should you wish to delete the mobile application temporarily and return, you can save your private keys first and then delete your accounts by simply uninstalling the JuaPay application which should erase all JuaPay related data saved on your device. Note that deleting this way will also delete your accounts on your device including the dummy account should one exist.
Data Retention
Upon requesting deletion of your account, your non-KYC data will be deleted within 24 hours of receiving the account deletion request and any KYC related data stored on our servers will be automatically deleted after 6 months of receiving the request or less if required by laws of the customer's country of residence. The KYC information we store is for security purposes which may be needed for later investigations and therefore cannot be deleted immediately on request.
Inactivity on an account for more than 12 months will result in your data, both non-KYC and KYC data, being deleted off our servers, or less if required by laws of the customer's country of residence, meaning if there has been no transaction made to the blockchain using the account's address.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect from unauthorised access, use, and disclosure. Furthermore the transmission of your personal information is encrypted.
The wallet is of a non-custodial type and therefore security of your funds is placed fully in your hands as we do not store any security information onto our servers such as password, passphrases or private keys. We therefore cannot provide a way to reset your forgotten password if you have also lost access to your private key or passphrase.
By using the application, you agree that you are fully responsible of securing your funds by securing access to your password, passphrases or private keys.
